Notice the Hella fog light covers still in place such is the newness of the bus. Also notice the front section of the 98FM advert was missing as a result of air getting between the bus side and flexible advert panel, this was a major issue at the time on both the Bombardier KDs and the then new Leyland Olympian RHs. As a remedy until a solution was found, all factory fitted advert frames were omitted from new build RHs, buses affected were RH 134 (Summerhill) right through to RH 169 (Ringsend) with the exception of Clontarf’s wedding liveried RH 154. A new more squared off and bulkier advert frame was factory fitted from RH 170 onwards, when combined with vertical plastic securing strips and a central anchor on the T offside, the problems were largely resolved. RH 34 stayed in service at Phibsboro until withdrawn from service in 2002, whereupon it was sold to the bus dealer Ensignbus, Purfleet, Essex, UK who secured a home for it with South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach, Bristol, receiving the registration, H 980 PTW.
